RE: [Xbox] BlackBerry Email Trace

At this point, if you find him I will send you a code for 1,600 MS points dude. Seriously. This search is hurting my game time bad. I will send you an email offlist after I grab a bite to eat.

Thanks,
Nate

OK…

How do you want me to go about doing it and do you think they will post my hunt message base on my address or based on the group's address?

Just give me the instructions (privately of course) and I'll start the execution…  Starting from the A's…

Uh 100's a day? If you have that much time on your hands why don't you help me find out who the GFL blogger is, since you are already a Mod there.

Thanks,

Nate

Yeah, my trace falls back to Rim and stops cold there too...

One other theory I have is captainblake@m1.blackberry.com is the end service
from RIM but it could be from one of the major cell sp's that forwards the
message to RIM if they aren't using their own BES.

How many service providers offer BlackBerry service?  Are the major service
providers using their own BES or do they just forward the message to RIM for
them to redirect?

T-Mobile, AT&T, Cingular before they merged, and Verizon... is there any
other a major providers?

If we know what mail domain they are using for their BlackBerries we can try
to single the bounce out one by one...

For instance...  T-Mobile might be captainblake@tmobile.net.  Sent a test
message to that address and see if it traces out the same as the
captainblake@m1.blackberry.com message or see if it goes through.

Apologize to the end user if it is a real address and then move on.  Just
one theory...  I'll see if I can think of more...

Have you guys tried grouping the member list and sending out a test message
to the members to single out the original address?

If you guys want I can volunteer to do this... I can send out a test message
to about 100 users a day to narrow down the list...  I'd have to be made a
temporary mod until the project is complete...

You do... You're the new God.  Pogo and I both beat the crud
outta that mess and it goes back to Blackberry - who refuses to
do anything, even when threatened with legal action.  They say
the only way they're giving up the ID or even just the Carrier behind
ole' Captain Blakeass is with a court order and maybe not even
then (or at least not all of it).

I tried IP tracing, everything I had I threw at it - nada.  It's
basically
some chump who didn't pay his bill with one of the carriers or he
got his ass fired and the IT guys never cleaned up after him.  So
it hits a bouncing wall and Blackberry refuses to lift a finger, even
though it's their domain causing us all the grief.

Now's the time you need someone in the Media to crawl out
from under their rock and howl like a stuck pig about how BB
spams without responsibility.  That'd wake them up, good PR for
whoever writes it up and splashes it in the headlines.  You know
one picks up another's stories and it'd go like wildfire.

But you do it... man... and you're my new Cult Leader and Proph's
out on his sorry tryna be a 'burbanite butt!
