differences. Erm, that's the whole POINT of comparing stuff. If they were
exactly the same then there wouldn't be anything TO compare.
The whole point of comparing one item to another is to identify its
differences and benefits against another product. So perhaps comparing
Apples to Oranges actually makes MORE sense than comparing Apples to Apples.
That said, I still disagree that comparing Windows to Linux is the same thing.
Both of those OS can run technically run my Windows apps, or can run apps
that do the same tasks either better or worse. So at the end of the day, its
worth comparing. If you never compared different OS then you would never
know if one was better than the other for what you wanted.
Besides, I still say XP 32bit runs "the software I use" faster than Vista
64bit does. Like I already said, perhaps I should install Vista 32bit for a
fairer comparison but at the end of the day its not about comparing IDENTICAL
systems, that's fairly pointless. Its about comparing DIFFERENT things to
see if they are better/worse than what I am currently using.
