__._,_.___I totally agree, even though my PC is capable of running all current games. For example I downloaded Test Drive Unlimited for the PC after I had played the 360 demo but wasn't sure the full game would hold my interest. It was a royal PITA and ran like crap compared to the 360 version despite my PC technically being excellent specs for the game. However I realised the game DID hold my interest so I bought it on 360 and also bought the 360 wheel. The ONLY thing I MUST have on PC is UT3, as I'm not a huge FPS fan but when I do play them I find the mouse essential (except Prey because you don't need the same split-second reaction time). I do not have the dexterity/accuracy with the pad. But perhaps that's a physical thing because I am getting arthritis in my hands so I am very sensitive to using the pad at all some days and especially can't use the Dual Shock pads as they are very painful for me, as is trying to use analog on the PSP for the same reason - bad angle of my thumb trying to reach the analog. Like I said, the ONLY thing that really pisses me off about 360 is the noise (oh and the D-Pad of course). I never thought ANYTHING would be more noisy than PCs but after carefully upgrading my PC to keep it as quiet as possible, the 360 is WAY louder because it spins the DVDs so fast. Personally I would have preferred an option to choose slightly longer loading times via the dash to reduce the noise, I know it can do it as when the 360 has loading problems it spins the drive down slower but it NEVER had caused a game to have problems loading the data fast enough - it just makes it a LOT quieter. Also the speed difference is marginal between super noisy drive and fairly reasonable dB drive. Of course they probably could also have built the drives better to reduce the noise as we already know they skimped on those, which is what makes them ultra sensitive to moving the console with a DVD in the drive. I really liked that game and excitedly bought it. Geee it doesn't work. OH, look there is a new feature( can't remember the name) for shadows, firelight etc. Now I need a new video card, so you buy the card well Direct X needs to be upgraded. Dam now the sound card has problems. They don't make drivers for it any more. Those are the simple things and I am not looking into memory or processor speed. This was not just one game. Every time something new came out it was dinking with drivers. One day I was in Toys-R-US and there is my Thief game for Xbox. How much is the Xbox????----$150. Bought the console, bought the game. Connected everything and dropped in the disk and everything worked no hassles with hardware or software. I have not looked back since then. Now I have upgraded to an Elite and love it. Ohhh the PC????? Now it is for internet, e-mail paying bills etc. and for looking up web sites when I am stuck. I can have both running at the same time. Neat huhhhh. Bruce Alex Atkin wrote:I was wondering the same. I for one am not ready to ditch the 360 quite yet. In fact, the consoles are about at the point where releasing a new console will make minimal differences to the games so I am perfectly happy to stick with 360 for some time to come, even if PC inches its way past in graphical power. Speaking of that though, I do not think PC games are vastly surpassing the 360 at all. Its going to take a while until enough people have good enough PCs for the games to really outshine the 360. It was fairly obvious when the PC was a greater resolution or at least progressive scan when TVs were not. Now in the HD era, the difference is less noticable. The only thing I dislike about the 360 is how damn noisy it is. Although I am lucky in that I am only on my second console and I had NO DRM hassle when they replaced the motherboard and DVD-ROM drive, they migrated my old consoles serial number to the new motherboard. Am I the only person still bothered about achievements? I still find it hard to play Wii and PC games due to the lack of achievements. Yes I know some PC games have em, but if its a choice between the same game on PC or 360 I choose 360 so they do not count. Alex. As soon as people found out that HD-DVD was dead that's when sales started to pick back up. It will be interesting to see what the next year will bring for the PS3, since the 360 is on it's last legs the 'holy crap!' moments will be few and far between. Where as the PS3 is supposed to have more power, so the developers should just be starting to see what the PS3 can pull off. but damn.. So you purchase a game, pop it into your PS3 and wait 5-20 minutes before you can play it while it copies data. I know why it is being done, so that the game loads/streams faster, but there is no choice, automatically takes the HD space away for any game. If you do the math those poor people who own the 40g version will put about 15 games into their system and the HD will be full (averaging 3g per game). If you delete that data from the HD it will force the auto-reload of that data the next time you play that game, another 5-20 minute wait.
