RE: [Xbox] filed my first complaint about a gamertag last night

Insulting a Brown’s fan hasn’t incited War as far as I remember.  Most wars today are based on religion.

Microsoft has an interest in making sure the least common denominator of keeping people happy and a returning customer is a common family value.  Unless you have a family that believes in incestuous rape, murder, infant drug use and the likes then Microsoft is going to target you as a customer that it wants.  As far as I can see Microsoft aren’t using any members from the Temple of Set as a spokesperson.

As for the gamer tag, it was probably caught by someone who reads and knows what base meaning is of Pimpin’ Ho.  The people changing it are probably outsourced and reading from a script and have no idea what a Pimp or a Ho is based on their cultural region so they are just changing it.  On their end they probably don’t have a note about the tag to understand why it needed to be changed and just that it needs to be changed and do it over the phone to fulfill a service ticket.

My point is, that when people misuse the system ( or use it for reasons that don't warrant reporting )....then it makes a system that is great in theory ( but terrible in reality ) even less useful. And if you/he don't believe in God, what was so offensive? That would be like me saying, "I think the Browns were one of the worst Franchises in NFL history....let me file a complaint against PSCG Cleveland". I'd have no right...and it would just flood this useless system with more information that they already can't handle.

I'm not saying it couldn't be offensive to someone, but when you come out and say that you reported him becuase of his tag....and then say, I did it even though I don't believe in God - then that's just an abuse of the system. Do I think it's a stupid, ridiculous Tag - yup. Would I bother reporting it - probably not. But I'm just saying that if they truly are offense ( in name or by voice or messages ) then report the Hell out of them. But to report people for being stupid in their choice of name is garbage. If we were to start doing that all the time, I'd be filing complaints daily against people who use "leet speak" in their tags....or the people who feel the need to slap their Clan Tag in front of their name....or the guys who want to impress people with putting "MLG" in front. This would be a mess.....

Take that person who decides to peg you as a racist or even just a quitter when you trounced him fair and square in a game of Madden or Call of Duty. Just because you bested them, they feel like they have to retaliate. It is wrong, but if M$ really did pay as much attention as you wanted them to - more good people would be out of luck than bad I think. God forbid you even get one more kill than someone....you'd be gone. That would be a shame.

And do you honestly think that MS doesn't do anything? They certainly do...just too little and way too late - and they DON'T PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT THEY IMPOSE ON PEOPLE. Here's the prime example:

I've had Live! since day one ( actually, since Beta )...and so have a few long time, RL friends of mine. One of them has had the Gamer Tag "Pimpin Ho Sale" since we first made our tags. He had it for 3 years straight, and then M$ suspended him until he changed it. He changed it, on the phone with a Rep from M$, to "PimpinHoSale1".  Then, just back around April ( another year later ) - they got him again.....and he changed it once more. Wanna take a guess as to what they manually changed it to FOR HIM? Yup: "PimpinHoSale3".
