Maybe it’s asking you to do the hokey pokey…
Sorry, I haven’t played H3 yet. Are you sure you tried every combo on the D-pad, L-Stick, or R-Stick? Are you sure you have the right codes?

I do not generally ask for help with codes. But I am stuck on a
particular checkpoint.
I need ammo refreshing, I input the cheat code and it doesn't work.
I understand the button (XYAB) instructions, but what does L,R, Up,
Down mean. It is LR on the LT, RT shoulder pads, or on the Triggers,
or is it L, R on the thumb pads or the directional button on the LHS of
the controller??
It is for the XBOX 360.
I have tried just about every combination of LR, Up, Down, but i am
stuck. Any help would be appreciated.
