Re: [Xbox] Xbox 360 Avatars only in 'E' titles

This doesn't really make sense after claiming that they will be allowing us
custom clothing such as uniforms from sports games, Gears of War, etc.
Some of these games are over 18, so this is basically saying that no we wont,
at least not initially. :-( That is only going to annoy hardcore gamers even
more.

I think people who do not like the Avatars idea are more likely to tolerate it
if they can customise it to their games therefore making them look more
hardcore gamer-ish. If they are not allowing that it just backs up the theory
that its a kiddy feature and does not belong on the dashboard. Its not like
its going to be optional despite what they say. Sure you can stick with bog
standard avatars and gamerpics but its clear that avatars are an integral
part of how the party system functions so you will still have to use them
sometimes.

If anything they should have age related features where kids are assigned more
cartoony avatars only but teens have more realistic options with adults
having full rein to use the Vision Camera to fully map their face on them.
That to me would make avatars work for both kids and hardcore gamers (can you
be a hardcore gamer under 10? Probably not seeing as hardcore games are
generally 16+ rating or higher) in my opinion.

Alex.
