Yeah I got one from Cheap Video Games just like you said a confirmation that I joined back 2 weeks or so ago. I just deleted it. Some of the deals sounded to good to be true and I thought it was probably a site created to scoop credit card info or something. Can you auto-sign up peeps with gmail groups? I didn't know that. It could have been legit but I don't like anyone signing me up for anything without talking about it with me and I couldn't get any info on an email addy I could run through the members list for GFL. I got this somewhat strange e-mail subscription verification from Google's feedburner about me allegedly asking to subscribe to this thing... It's a Google Group, which is one of the strange parts, not a Yahoo! one but then again the e-mail being used to shove me stuff is an @yahoo one. Anyone else get hit up with this? The 'feed' and the 'blog' do have some reasonable information but I don't remember any sites I've been to recently or anything else where I'd have tried to sign up for this thing. So I'm wondering if someone's back at harvesting again or if this is related to that stupid Blackberry bit - they're gathering e-mails and then shoving them into their auto-signups. You get the 'confirmation' thing and then figure 'eh, it sounds possible and maybe decent', confirm it and then you're in. Again, what I'm getting I wouldn't call spammy, it is good deals from a variety of places, but the Blog part and everything else has no ID from a human. I'd call that spam, but then again they're not trying to sell me anything, just tell me where to find solid gamer deals. But the lack of a name tied to it's buggin me. If this turns out to be bogusly done, Google will slam the door on it in seconds. But I don't want to file a complaint if it's legit or maybe I did sign up and forgot (us older gamers, ya know, we've lost it after too many years staring at screens! LOL).
