and still on some stuff like Portal. Totally screwed with me. There's a few
things you can do - Dramamine or other motion sickness stuff's the easy way
out but I've discovered how you're playing also has a major effect and you can
DIY your way back to game play.
1) Lights. Backlights, things that allow your peripheral vision to
'see' things
around the room and not suck you totally into the game. Once you get that
tunnel-vision thing going, you'll be horfing soon after (or at least
feel like it).
2) Back that ass up. If you're right on the TV or you play within a couple
feet and have the room blacked out, you're gonna get it.
3) Sit in solid, comfortable furniture. Nothing causes Virtual Reality feel
like a rocking recliner or something not steady during gameplay, kinda adds
to the effect. To help get rid of it, get a comfortable and stationary chair!
Try those, rent a game that causes it and see if it goes away without taking
the happy dope. Then, if it doesn't, try that as a last resort so you don't
miss out on the solid games in FPS out there!
