Re: [Xbox] my thoughts on some MS rumors

I see what you mean, the gamerpics do seem to be missing. They did
specifically say the blades were still present though as they also pointed
out you will have access to My Games while a game is running (the only
feature the PS3 has now which the 360 doesn't).

Well, people don't necessarily claim Second Life is kiddy, or that Playstation
Home was going to be kiddy. So I think its just the natural comparison to
the Wii that is the problem, when it has little in common with Miis. Miis
are vastly under-utilised which makes them kinda pointless 99% of the time.
At least Microsoft are making this integral with how Live works so its not
just a pointless function, it will make recognising who is online easier as
with gamerpics people change them all the time whereas an avatar you can
(hopefully) make it more personal and stick with it.

I'm not sure the rest of the design will work, but it does look like its
better customised for high definition and widescreen than the current dash
is. Theres a LOT more information on-screen when viewing games and
marketplace items by the looks of it. Also it needs to be a much quicker
interface than it is now, as while downloading something is quick, finding it
was getting cumbersome even on the UK marketplace which doesn't have TV shows
and has few movies.
