__._,_.___Ya, I just looked it up to be sure... That's a freakin VGA DSUB-15 PC monitor-style hookup. Not composite or component. So first since Alex loves to skimp details we gotta find out if he's using the official cable or some knock-off, then the TV he's using to deal with it. Didn't bother to mention all those nice details that might help him get an answer. Obviously it's going to be a little harder since he's not in the US to find someone running the same stuff, so it's hard to pin down the problem. He's tucked away in his bed for a couple more hours now, then we'll hopefully get some realistic information. One thing that's buggin me is the 768p bit, since it's 720p as a norm at least here in the US. So if it's working but at a funky base resolution for him it's possible his TV can't deal with the higher res because it's not tying to put out 1080p/i but some other weird multiple? I saw the 'over VGA' part, but there's an SDTV cable and the HDTV cable. Ain't no VGA in the freakin house unless you're using a VGA conversion cable from the aftermarket to shove it to VGA DSUB15 inputs on a monitor OR some TV's like the Vizio's we have that provide tons of input. But again, let's say he's using the conversion cable and plugging it into the VGA port on an LCD TV. Eh, why? Some funky new UK trick we're not enlightened on? Smart money says don't be a dope and shove it out HDMI-style and be done with it, gonna pump better data rates that stock VGA anyways. Thusly, I don't get what he's up to, but ya know that's normal... Why are you using VGA anyways? Just out of curiosity, I mean do you have a large PC monitor or something? And how are you generating your VGA signal, whatever you have for that could very well be the cause of your problems. VGA monitors are touchy and if you don't have the frequency set up right to match the resolution you'd get garbage results like that. Not sure what UK freq's are compared to the US, but check that setting and also see if you can tell us what's up with the output. VGA should be using a DSUB15, if you have a PC monitor that has Composite inputs and you're using that - again that could be something your monitor's not capable of or needs a different freq setting to unscramble the thing. Inside Xbox doesn't work. I just get a screen full of garbage and the audio as normal. It works fine if I drop the resolution back to 768p but fails every time at 1080p. Everything else seems to work fine at 1080p, its quite odd. First time it happened I thought the GPU had packed up. Alex.
