I would have to agree with that end statement. I was one of those people that sat outside and camped for my ps3 xbox 360 and wii.., guess which system owns my bookshelf games wise.., guess which system gets played, guess which system hasnt a spec of dust on it.., and guess which is the most beloved. its clear the first one and the only one with a gamer in mind is xbox 360. Did i want PS3 and Wii to be a competitor?  You can bet you @$$ that i did. I wasnt sitting out waiting for them nor do i want to throw money out the door. Having the PS3 feels empty and I feel that sony still needs to support the machine. They give more support to the PS2 and they point to it anytime someone says something about the PS3 its said. I used to work for them and I didnt like their views on business then and i dont like it now, in fact now i like it even less. Wii unfortunately is a HUGEEE gimmic.., I had 4 and sold all of them but one [for collectors sake] because it doesnt get played. id rather get my cube out and play my games on that even with the crappy controllers. AM I a 360 fanboy? NO im not im a GAMES fanboy. But after 11 years in the game industry and growing up with pong and everything else along the way I cant help loving microsofts machine. I know both the user and the developer end and across the board it makes the most sense that the 360 be on top this time around. And yes I know that SONY & Wii will throw numbers saying that they sell more. With that I say see the attach rate. You make your money off of software and peripherals not systems.., systems keep you in the red. SO i say whatever system you have make the best of it.., but for now until there is some REAL competition make mine XBO360.

You're still not making sense to me.  Currently the graphics are even between the two although the PS3 has more potential.  But we haven't seen that potential yet as most video comparisons look equal.  It is already easy to play media on the 360 from your PC, mp3 player or external hard drive.  Currently the xbox Elite has a 120 gig hard drive, PS3 only goes up to 80 gig.   The only thing missing is a blu-ray player and that can done with an external add-on down the road.

 

Don't worry about any hype for another console, just play the one you own and have fun with it.  currently the Wii is the hottest console out there and I think it's a PoS.  It sits here and collects dust.

I mean blue ray, better graphics output, larger hard drive space, easier connectivity to my media on my pc.  I love my xbox but I would like to see something to shut up the ps3 hype.  I feel the games are much better on 360 and much easier to control.

Weird title huh?

well guess what...think about it....come November of this year...we
will be 3 years into the 360's life cycle ( a typical system life
cycle is 5 years on avg.) and the following year after that, the
same for Wii and PS3 (yet we are still calling these systems next
gen). So, if the law of averages holds, there should be a new system
from all 3 companies on the horizon come 2010 - 11.

And, when you think about it, we still haven't seen EVERYTHING these
systems can do yet and that Sony's PS2 is STILL hot and...slowly but
surely people are moving from that to the PS3.

So, do you think that there will be new systems that we should be
ready for in about 2 or 3 years or do you think that with all 3
systems still breaking ground right now, more time should be given
to us consumers to enjoy these systems before something new comes on
the market?

(and subsequentially break our pockets....again....)
