Re: [Xbox] Microsoft's Don Mattrick confirms new Halo game in the works

Two things.
First: I thought that is what Halo wars is about. The thing said that they were making a game different from Halo wars which I'm calling for sake of reference Halo 4. If they're going to be releasing the same game twice then they are proving my point that Bungie is getting extremely lazy with their games.

Second: So what if a majority of gamers haven't read the books. You can't write a story one way and then decide to screw the people who spent $20 on each book by making a video game that totally screws what they read into to crap as pointless as fan-fiction.

Look I'm stoked that they are making 2 new halo games. It's just that I don't want 4 of the exact same game but with different covers.

Thanks,

Kyle

hmmmm, i'm willing to bet most halo players haven't read the books

Yeah but in the book Contact Harvest they give you a pretty good idea of how it started. Plus I kind of thought that the worst part of Halo 2 was playing as the covenant.

How do they plan on making a new story line? I could've sworn that in Halo 3 you killed the flood, Destroyed the covenant, and made friends with the elites.
Unless they do it similar to the Star Wars saga. Halo 4 starts before Halo 1, and shows how the Covenant was formed.

I guess you could do a total pre-quel type of game but where would the fun be in that? If you already read the Halo books you pretty much know the events leading up to the first Halo game and how everything started. I personally can't see them creating an entirely new set of alien races that want to destroy Earth because quite frankly Bungie hasn't been that original in creating new characters in the series. It's the same type of opponents in each game and boils down to the EXACT SAME PLOT. Find new Halo ring, find way to destroy new halo ring without killing the entire universe. Stop evil Covenant leader from activating the ring. Have ring infected with flood. Get past flood by running, shooting, and repeating. Save the world, everything is fine... until another ring is discovered and the process is repeated. Sure the graphics improve dramatically every game but I really don't want to have to deal with the pain in the *** zombie freaks that look like they just got off the set of I am Legend (am I the only one who sees a resemblance?) in another game . Look I know that I'm going to be a sucker like a majority of gamers and shell out $60 bucks for the game ( I don't see why any one in their right mind would willingly pay $100 for the game just because it comes with a miniature spartan helmet.) but I hope that they will at least give me a new set of opponents to face and no more Halo rings to destroy and have to have an obstacle course to overcome on a warthog and then in a suspenseful clip watch as master chief flys of of halo at the last second before it is destroyed in a big bang. I just hope that Halo wars will be interesting and reveal a new plot for Halo 4. Thanks to any one who read this entire letter. I know its alot but I really just couldn't let my thoughts stay cooped up much longer without taking it out on my 360 console.

Thanks,

Kyle

Master Chief, main protagonist of Bungie Studios' Halo - Image 1It certainly was a big letdown for Xbox 360 fans when they heard Bungie Studios pulled a no show during the recent E3 event. Cheer up, though. Microsoft's head of Xbox business Don Mattrick had some good news to appease Halo fans of their absence during their video gaming event.

In an interview conducted by MTV News last Tuesday, Mattrick confirmed that Bungie was indeed working on a new Halo game for everyone. When pressed regarding the lack of Halo news during Microsoft's recent press conference, he replied that the huge amount of content already released last Monday would not affect gamers even if they did release a few tidbits regarding the new Halo title.

In case you're wondering if Mattrick was referring to their long awaited real-time strategy game Halo Wars or the previously announced Halo project collaboration with Peter Jackson, the answer was surprisingly neither. Apparently an entirely new Halo title is currently in the works and will be revealed when the time is right.

No other details were revealed when exactly this upcoming title will be revealed, but we'll be sure to pick up on any new information as soon as we get it. Drop by again here at QJ.NET for more updates regarding Bungie and its mysterious Halo title.
