the dashboard isn't perfect - its as close as any console has even been.
At least it sounds like its all integrated though unlike Home where you have
to specifically load up the service all the time. If they were going to do a
Home like service they did it the only logical way, by making it properly
part of the service rather than tagging it on as an afterthought like Sony
are doing.
I'm not sure how happy I am about it. I will watch the press conference later
once its available to download as I cant get audio to work on FLASH video on
64bit Linux. grrrrr
Theoretically, if they do it right (by making things easier not harder) it
could work well. But a 3D OS has always been a pipe dream because nobody
could come up with a concept that is actually as usable as a classic 2D GUI
is. For example its amazing how much simpler some things are from
DOS/Terminal compared to using a GUI even today, because sometimes that GUI
just slows you down.
