Really? Man that's a semi-improvement! Shows you how long it's been since I've had to deal with one, thankfully. But that would speed stuff up, print that out and UPS Store's even have the plastic label holding thing you can get from them vs trying to tape the sucker on a box. I guess it'd save tons of money, but can you imagine some of the inbound boxes and packing jobs they're gonna get? LOL! On Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 10:18 AM, Nelson (nelzp) <nelson@nelzp.com> wrote:
No coffin unless you request it now. They send you an email with a link to UPS to print out your UPS label and you package it yourself. Saves a few days not having to wait for the box and label. thanks, Nelson From: PSCG Cleveland Sent: Thursday, July 17, 2008 10:09 AM To: Xbox@yahoogroups.com Subject: Re: [Xbox] Re: My son's Xbox has 3 red lights on and wont work. Actually since you're with us - go to Xbox.com under Support and start a support ticket there. It'll let you 'register' that console's serial number and tell you right away if it's still covered under that extended 3 year warranty for what we call the Red Ring of Death (RRoD) or that 3 light pattern you're talking about. It'll also tell you if there's any 'regular' warranty period left as well, only the RRoD situation is covered under the extended 3 year part. Also, ya, don't worry about a receipt. You start the ticket, they send you a box UPS that we like to cal the 'casket' with complete packing instructions and prepaid UPS return ticket (TAKE it to a UPS Store to ship it back and get a receipt, shipping and the receipt are FREE! but it covers your butt if someone loses it or it gets damaged in transport). Ship it off, sit back and wait anywhere from 2 weeks to maybe a month (currently it's 2 weeksish) and either you get that one back fixed or another refurb'ed one and a nice One Month Live! Gold card for your troubles. I've even picked up used systems off pawn shops and sent them in - repaired/replaced without a single hassle. I'll keep looking for receipt (we just moved from Ohio to Alabama in January. Most everything is out of the boxes and put away but I still have a few boxes in the basement that it maybe in.) I bought it last year in September for his b-day but it was a reconditioned unit will that still be covered? Thanks again, Dora Renee' Wilkerson
