No they haven't I belong to costco.  Consoles can still be returned anytime the change in policy is mainly for Computers, projectors, mp3 players, Televisions, camcorders, cameras and cellular phones.  They did this because they have 100% satisfaction guarantee and people were keeping TV's for 2 or 3 years and taking them back to get the newer models.  The same was going on with computers.  You can thank crooked consumers for that but still with those items you get an additional 2 year guarantee of it breaks so you are covered!  I just bought a TV there so if it breaks 18 months from now they will exchange it for me.  That's a great deal.  I know a few people that brought their RROD consoles back to Costco and they replaced them on the spot.  That's much better than getting a refurb!

Ya but just because it says Ground delivery, doesn't mean it stays
on the ground the whole time it's in transit.  So yes, it can go ground
in semi's to their Ft Worth hub (it appears) and then gets slingshot'ed
through the air to the various master hubs.  You've got one up there
in Chicagoland that has an airstrip.  Ours in Cleveland doesn't, it's
gotta land at the airport and then get trucked out to the giant sort
facility a little south.  That extra bit means we couldn't get a 1-day
like you're saying.

Who'd you have to call to get a tracking #?  I'm just looking on the
Support site where you fill out the ticket, etc. and it shows the S/N
of any box(es) you have registered under that Live ID.  Nothing about
delivery dates either.  Since I've had no e-mails from MS on this
go-round, they posted up the tracking # on the Support site and
I've had to do the rest from there.

What's the FedEx tracer saying for an expected delivery date?

i understand they make airplanes, but it says ground delivery, and no, i
called them today to get the tracking number.  says delivery today, but
doesn't make sense.  fed ex site hasn't been updated since yesterday
morning, which is more weird, like it never made it to chicago, figures

Eh, they make airplanes? Did you scan the tracking # at FedEx.com
to see
it's estimated arrival date? And they sent YOU e-mails and not
the rest of
us? I feel insulted now! LOL

Dallas/Ft Worth is one of the largest FedEx
Hubs and you happen to
live in one of the heaviest action territories.
There's so much junk going
from down there to up where you are - they pack
it all in planes and
airlift it. Tons faster and cheaper, a 747
cargo-modified can hold the
contents of about 15 semi's. That's 15 less
drivers to get paid and about
55% less fuel than all those trucks at once.
And like 4-5 hours transit
time vs. 18+ long-haul.

 So ya... it's possible.
BUT, check the waybill tracking # to see when
FedEx says it'll be there. And
you'll know when it's 'out on truck for
delivery' that your local guy's got
it and he'll be there whenever you
normally see them zip around dropping
things... off. <Grin>
