If you are convinced of that, then you must know exactly what the limits
are today, and what they will be in the future. You may not have heard
that man has traveled to the moon, decades ago now--somewhat
unexpectedly for those who didn't bother to keep abreast of events. Our
ability to generate electricity is only hobbled now by the reluctance of
certain segments of our population to allow building new nuclear plants.

Attempting to retard progress from a defeatist attitude will only insure
that the less-advantaged members of society will have to do without. Is
that what you really want? Or did you have in mind something like "1984"
where no one but the very very few have a good life?

Prices are rising, and the pressure on the environment is increasing, to
a great degree because of the growth of the Chinese and Indian
economies. This is inevitable and will only be made worse as time passes
unless human population is held in check and preferably diminished.

If you wish to do something for the planet, please become celibate and
encourage the Chinese and Indians to do the same while you are about it.
