Re: [Xbox] Inside Xbox Problem

maybe u never calibrated it right, i can easily see how you wouldn't know how to do that properly, but still thinking that u did it perfectly

Well perhaps its an unfair comparison, but my 2 year old Samsung cannot get close to the picture quality/vibrant images of a 6 month only, smaller, cheaper, LG. In fact I would go so far as to say my Samsung looks dull, washed out and generally not very nice at all. But then, LCD technology likely improved a lot in the last 2 years so its not really a surprise. Put it this way. The latest model LG kicks the living daylights out of my old Samsung. Also, its up to $600 less than the 2" smaller equivalent Samsung in the shops right now. So why wouldn't I favour it? Alex. On Monday 07 July 2008 14:39:43 PRoPHeTiZeR wrote:
LG are the lower end of LCD's, so i don't care how many they make, quantity doesn't equal quality. samsung may have LCD issues, but they do make some of the best LCD screens, they just have software issues, which is too bad PSCG Cleveland wrote:
It was a sane answer, might've sounded insane to you but to at least the two of us it's normality. Yes, the Samsung's a mess on more than just the software side - no argument. But, what you describe as pluses for the LG's - stock stuff on the Vizios we use that we've beat the living (#$* out of and never had any issues like this. All resolutions, multiple formats - never a dropout or glitch like you describe. Doesn't mean it's not happening, just that the Vizio's aren't doing it. Just to be fair and balanced, not making it look like I love to just poke you in the eye for fun and sport, I'm getting my hands on that exact cable and I'm going to give it a whirl with exactly what you've described on both the Vizio's I have working and also my personally annoying Olevia/Syntax Brillian 32" as well to see if the same thing pops up. And in response, I wasn't planning on giving you a solution - I was asking for those details to be able to duplicate it on other setups and see if there is a true glitch or possibly just one on your model of TV OR if it's just you and you're cursed. The details you originally gave is more like 'my ass hurts' and not 'my butt hurts when I sit on a metal table and it's -30f outside in the wintertime' which helps duplicate the environment. Since my Vizio's are on the road all the time in all kinds of temps and weather/power conditions if I asked the same thing no one would probably have the same issues. The Olevia's inside and stable, so that'd be a totally different environment. We've already noticed a difference in the calibration of Guitar Hero III's w/the Les Paul's and the Vizios depending on what kind of power is being supplied to it. Up to 18ms off in some cases. So that's why I asked where the rest of the info is, to see if it's something bigger you can't fix or something in your setups to investigate. If you'd rather just have Proph and me poke ya and never really respond to your posts when you ask for help or information, hey just ask! Of course, the second largest panel producer MUST be the problem. Seriously, the LG from what I have seen has FAR better software than other manufacturers. The Samsung remote and software is just pathetic. You couldnt easily jump from EXT1 to HDMI, you had to keep slowly (it would take about a second to respond) pressing the input select button.. The LG you press input select and it gives you a list. The ONLY problems with the LG are ghosting on all inputs (all TVs do it from what I hear, its some bullshit to do with motion compensation, its not too noticable from a sane viewing distance thankfully) and problems in 100Hz mode with fast motion, but I think thats just the nature of trying to generate an extra frame from 2 frames - you are gonna get artifacts. So yeah please give a SANE answer. I am 99% sure this is the 360 at fault because the corruption is coming in clear, it just looks like a GPU crash to be honest but its not - because it works fine if you then exit back out. Like I said, its clearly not the TV as you well know once the 360 is set to a resolution it ALWAYS outputs that resolution. If the TV couldnt handle 1080p then ALL output at 1080p from the 360 would be affected, its purely some sort of problem upscaling Inside Xbox to 1080p over VGA on my xbox. Very odd. Mind you its not half as bad as the PS3. The 2.40 firmware update just broke the ability to steam AVIs, although some people had far worse issues needing a format of the hard drive in a PC to recover. Alex. Heh, well you said it... But why poor ole' LG? Zenith did so well slapping their nameplate on'em in the beginning, same with some other lower brands that ya know, 'never had issues'. Remember LG - Life's Good... when ya don't buy one. On Sun, Jul 6, 2008 at 12:50 PM, PRoPHeTiZeR <prophetizer@wrup.net>

Its not the TV as Virtua Tennis 3 runs at 1080p perfectly as do playing HD-DVD movies. Like I said, its ONLY Inside Xbox. I failed to give details because I wasn't asking for a fix, just curious if anyone else had the same glitch. For the record, this is the 42LG6000 my NEW TV. Alex. Canadians get butt-naked and Brits can't figure out buttons so what are we poor air-conditioned Americans supposed to do? Logic says ya, quit screwing with what doesn't work and use what does, but apparently we're not logical. ------------------------------------ ____________________________________________________ Yahoo!
