As an Owner of other Yahoo! Groups, I can tell ya No Mail is a
giant pain. If you let your subscribed account, especially Yahoo!
Mail, go dormant and you start bouncing - No Mail won't inform
the Group (in the software, not telling everyone else) that there's
a problem delivering mail to you. That causes subscribed accounts
with issues, kinda like this nutball who's Blackberry is totally
screwed up, to continue to to give the Owner/Mods fits.

Also it's really up to the Owner to make his/her decisions on
how to handle their group, so if that's the chosen member policy
ya gotta ride with the rules to hang around.

One other thing that's specific to this Group from what I can see,
if you're getting mail delivered it's easier to pick out the sleaze
that have been reposting messages to other groups/websites
without permissions. It's easy to use a script (and be on No
Mail or Special Notices) to come in and 'harvest' the posts and
all of our e-mail addresses to spam. You can't see all the
members at once obviously, but anyone who posts could end
up with a mailbox full of junk that a 'stealth' account set to
either of those scans from the web. Getting mail delivered by
Digest or Individual messages means that person has to have
a subscribed and active mail account, usually eliminating those
fake accounts used to cause these troubles.

So me, I get why Pogo & the Gang have decided to run things
this way and having tons of active members is a very good
thing. Hopefully what I explained above helps make sense as
to why they'd rather not have you set to either of the 'stale'
settings. I'm not a Mod here at all, just another game-playing
schmuck like the rest of us, so don't confuse me with the Boss!
LOL
