Whooo sneaky and very possible with someone who knows that
system. Cable decoders have the tracking in their software for
what moved where and report that back to the central servers. Way
too many years ago I built the first-gen Sci Atlanta servers and that
was beyond a trip. Chips to run it brought in by Brinks trucks even.
So they guard it well and it's going to differ by manufacturer sadly.

The cable modems, again vary like mad but I'm not sure where
the metering takes place? I know on the AT&T DSL interface from
that modem/router it's logged internally and 'rats' back to the CO
for logging. So presumably it's in the firmware of the cable modem
combined with the back-office at the Comcast.

So theoretically - can be done. Realistically... eh, not so
easily sadly. You'd have to kill the response modes of the modem
and somehow make the TV decoder say it's getting it instead AND
then also trick the Comcast end of things because all that's
coming from two different sources piped into the same line to
your place.
