I do not care that much for fake focal distance filters, I would rather it be
clear all the way in to the distance than a poor filter as they always blur
it too much so it feels less realistic. In reality you can see fairly
clearly in to the distance because your eyes refocus, so forcing the focus in
to your car/player doesn't always feels right. Especially when you are
driving a car and its normal to be looking to the distance.
That said, no doubt its a draw-distance thing and its used to reduce the load
on the GPU without it being obvious its rendering bog all in the distance.
But it really makes me feel my eyesight is screwed especially when driving
over the bridges chasing someone.
Like you said thuogh, despite the flaws the gameplay more than makes up for
it. I haven't even checked out multiplayer yet.
